Trek to Sissu Waterfall
A stunning location to explore in Sissu is the Sissu waterfall, which is only a kilometre from the highway. It plummets from a height of around 50 metres. This waterfall is a stunning cascade that adds to the scenic beauty of the region. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a refreshing stop for visitors. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind. You can sit by the waterfall, enjoy the view, and let the sound of flowing water soothe your senses. You can visit this place by trekking, the terrain is not easy as there is no path, mere rocks and steep slopes are there. Don’t forgot to wear comfortable shoes for the same. You can cover some distance by zip lining as well but believe me its a great experience in itself and hike to a waterfall is worth it.
Enjoy boating at Sissu Lake
Just close to Sissu waterfall is the Sissu lake, near helipad, which is a man made lake with crystal clear waters, known for its stunning beauty. The lake adds to the charm of the Lahaul Valley and offers a refreshing and visually pleasing experience for travelers passing through the region. You can enjoy boating at this lake. However, we missed doing boating here as we spent major time at the waterfall.
Visit Geyphan Temple
Geyphan temple is dediacted to Lord Gyephang. According to locals, Lord Geyphang is the protector of the Lahaul Valley. You can pay a visit to this temple which is located on the main road at a walkable distance.

Although they have some height limit for the balloon to fly in the sky. But, still you can experience it in helipad area.
Day trip to Keylong
Keylong is located just 30 kms from Sissu. Keylong is the administrative headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district and offers a mix of natural beauty and cultural attractions. Visit the beautiful Key Monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the Spiti Valley. Visit the Shashur Monastery, which is known for its unique architecture and stunning location. And, if time allows, visit Kardang Monastery, which is located around 5 kilometers from Keylong.
Day trip to Baralacha La Pass
For adventure enthusiasts, the trek to Baralacha La pass is a great option. A day trip to Baralacha La Pass from Sissu is an exciting adventure that allows you to experience the stunning beauty of the Himalayas and the thrill of high-altitude travel. Baralacha La is a high mountain pass located at an altitude of around 16,040 feet (4,890 meters). En route to Baralacha La, you’ll pass by Suraj Tal lake and Deepak Tal lake, high-altitude lake known for its beauty. Take a short break here to admire the lake’s pristine waters and the surrounding mountain scenery. Capture the panoramic landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and the unique environment of the pass.
Stargazing
