Stuck at home? Looking for something to do at home? Staying at home during coronavirus outbreak is not easy. Especially when you are forced to sit at home. Life seems to be on hold. We all are being strictly instructed to stay at home, moving out only for essential items. No social gatherings, no travel, no visiting friends or relatives.
As the pandemic is increasing at a fast pace, everyone is quarantined at home. People are spending more time at home now. Isolation has great effect on mental and emotional well being as well. So, stop worrying and start thinking it as a great time to spend with family and start doing things which you wanted to do, but cannot do due to lack of time. Beat the Lockdown blues with the help of few things which you can do while you are home quarantine-
1.Read your Favorite Books – Yes! If you love to read books and if you are a true bookworm, then this is the best time to use this free time by reading a book that you wanted to read for months. We all have been so busy that we hardly get time to pick a book and read it. Now, you have all that time to spend on the couch while reading your favorite book.
2.Took up a New Hobby – Doesn’t that sound nice? Picking up a new hobby is one of the best ways to utilize your free time while doing things which you love to do. Learn photography or a new language. Learn cooking and make delicious dishes for your dear ones. Make yourself happy by learning some art and craft or painting. There are many options to choose from, you just need to pick your favorite.
3.Rearrange or Reorganize your Home – One of the best activities that you oversight every time due to busy work schedule is rearranging your home. This is the best time to reorganize your home and give it a fresh and new look. Declutter your space by keeping things you need and lessening the things which you do not need. Change the position of your furniture items. Add greenery in your living space. Organize your bookshelves, cabinets, storage spaces and kitchen.
4.Spent time with your Family – Nothing can beat the feeling of bond and love in a family. Staying at home gives you the best time to spend some quality time with your kids and family members. You will realize that every day life was so hectic that you rarely get time to sit with your family. Now, you have all time to play games together, have meals together, and spend wonderful time with your family.
5.Update your Professional Accounts – The idea of updating your CV or professional accounts like Linkedin, Twitter seems to be a very tough task. Many times we have opened our accounts and then closed is at is due to lack of time and focus. Make best use of this time and work on your CV and accounts.
6.Upgrade Yourself – Take up a new course may be related to your professional degree or may be for upgrading your existing skills or learning new skills. Develop a new set of skills in this time or learn something you are passionate about. For instance, in these digital times, you should learn the basics of digital marketing. If you love to write, learn content writing or writing a novel. You will get plenty of courses online, you can choose as per your niche and area of interest.
7.Practice Yoga – Remember all those times, you said you will do yoga but didn’t get enough time to do so. Now is your chance to detox your body while practicing yoga at home. Yoga helps in increasing flexibility of body, boosts metabolism, reduce your stress level, and enhance your physical health. Even if you have never done yoga, you will find many yoga tutorials on YouTube from where you can learn yoga step by step. Stay fit with yoga at home.
8.Clean your Wardrobe – It is a great time to clean your wardrobe deeply, which you are postponing for a long time. Yes! Ward off your unwanted stuff or old clothes which you do need anymore. Get rid of dusts, and moths. Organize your clothes smartly, so you will not mess up again while taking out clothes. Separate summer wear and winter wear clothes.
9.Clean your Kitchen – Make this lockdown more productive by making your kitchen clean, healthy and spotless that you’ve always dreamed of! Check out for removing all oil stains. Store all items in the spaces designed for them. Check for expiry dates on food items and discard expired grocery. Clean out all cabinets, floors, and wall tiles. Get rid of cockroaches and insects, if any.
10.Watch Movies or TV Series – Lockdown has provided us ample time to pursue our hobby, to learn new skills, and to watch movies or TV series with your family. Enjoy watching TV shows with your kids. Switch on to some romantic movies on Netflix with your partner. Watch a documentary series on Netflix.
