Kishangarh is a small town in Rajasthan located near Ajmer Jaipur highway. Kishangarh is also known as Marble city as the place is the largest producer and supplier of marble in India. Initially, this location is decided to be a large dumping ground for disposing marble slurry or marble dump produced by various industries during cutting and processing of marble. Trucks come frequently here to load all marble waste into dumping yard. That is why it is called as dumping yard.
The main purpose of this dumping yard was to store marble slurry. But, gradually the place has emerged as a new trending reels and selfie destination. The marble slurry disposed here form hills and marble powder covers the land offering breathtaking views. Dumping yard offers a perfect backdrop for photoshoots, pre wedding shoots, film shooting, and photography .
It has become an excellent location for taking pictures in the enormous area of white marble slurry and the lush green hills in the background. From the dumping yard, visitors can also see the surrounding hills and other places.
Although it is just a dumping yard of marble slurry but the views are stunning. The peaks of hills look like snow in photos. There are few pits also in the dumping yard which automatically gets filled with water in rainy season. And due to some reaction with marble it giver very beautiful aqua blue color which adds more beauty to this place.
Now the place has become a popular tourist destination, Marble Association has placed some marble poles and holes as well for photography. You will find a horse too to click pictures with posing the horse. They charge minimal amount for the same.
Due to its natural beauty it is also known by different names like mini Switzerland of Rajasthan, moonland of Rajasthan, Rann of kutch of Rajasthan. Many bollywood songs, album songs and even low budgeted albums are filmed here. To name some songs of movies – Kis kisko pyar karoon starring Kapil Sharma, Baghi 3 starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, were filmed here.
Best time to visit Dumping Yard-
Avoid summer season as the scotching sun over you will not allow to spend time and click photographs. Winter season is best to visit dumping yard. Rainy season is also good time to visit as all pits gets filled with water and the whole place looks like an island. The place looks stunning during sunrise and sunset.
How to reach Kishangarh-
The place is easily accessible by train, road and air.
By Train – You will find many trains to Kishangarh. The best way is to take a train till Kishangarh and from the railway station, take cab or taxi to reach the dumping yard. It is just 90 kilometers form Jaipur and 27 kilometers from Ajmer. If you are visiting Jaipur, you can take a detour and visit this place.
By Road – There is a good connectivity of roads, you can travel from anywhere to Kishangarh.
By Air – Travel from any location, there is a domestic airport from where flights run to other cities and destinations. Otherwise, you can take flight till Jaipur and take cab or taxi afterwards.
Thins to keep in mind before reaching Dumping yard-
- There is no entry fee, but you need permission from Marble Association to visit. It’s just a permit mentioning number of persons visiting and car number. You need to show this permit at the entrance.
- Carry water bottle and light snacks with you as it is all industrial area, very few shops are there.
- Washroom facilities are available.
- Do not go close to ponds as water might have some reactions.
- Do not spend too much time as marble dust is not good to inhale.
- Try to wear mask, if you have breathing problems.
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the dumping yard.
