India is opening again for travelling. Yes! You heard it right, after a long lockdown duration; India is ready to travel again. A big question in everyone’s mind is that – Is it safe to travel after COVID19? Everyone is dying to travel. Now its time to travel but with adhering to few restrictions and safety protocols.

As we all know, the effect of corona virus was completely unprecedented and undoubtedly it changed everything. It has shaken the whole world. The past few months were full of uncertainties. We stopped all movements, self quarantined ourselves at home, cancelled all everything, as the virus took over completely. The time was scary, everyone was after hand sanitizers. Long queues for buying groceries. Not meeting friends and relatives, following social distancing. The pandemic has globally affected every industry but travel industry got a big hit in minutes. Travelers cancelled their trips, hotel bookings and flights. No one has ever dreamed of such a situation where everything will come to a hault. Life seems to be on a long break.

But, finally after a long gap, state government started lifting lockdown. Although, India is still fighting against the virus, situation is constantly evolving. It has not stopped yet. We cannot say that it is 100% safe to travel, but yes, you can travel happily while taking all safety precautions. Many people have started travelling; many are still not in the favor of travelling. Same is with the states, some needs travelers to quarantine for a week and some needs corona negative test report. Many Health experts are advising to wait for few more months to travel out.

Tourism industry is adapting the new normal slowly with pace of time. It will take time for things to come on track, this will happen gradually. Travel will look different now with masks on face, strict sanitization, and social distancing. Even though, we are starting traveling, there are few things to consider regarding travel –

  • Prefer domestic travel for now. Specifically, where you can travel by your own vehicle. May be a short trip near to your location.
  • Avoid public transport like train or bus. Go for a self drive road trip.
  • Book property away from the crowded city, in a secluded area following all hygiene and safety concerns.
  • Get yourself tested before starting your journey.
  • Keep your trip planned and short. It is best to maintain social distancing and follow all healthy protocols.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact with others.
  • Avoid crowded restaurants, malls, busy streets and attractions.
